Q12) Price of an article increased by 20% and it's consumption is reduced by 10%. Find the percentage change in revenue?

Solution: Let p be the price of the article and q be the quantity consumed.
Revenue_initial = pq = 100
Revenue_new = (1.2p)(0.9q) = 1.08pq = 108
Hence, revenue is increased by 8%.
Hence, option 3.

Q13) If the numerator of a fraction is diminished by 12% and the denominator is increased by 32% then the fraction becomes 5/6. Find the original fraction?
1) 5/4

Solution: Let the original fraction be

Hence, option 1.

Q14) A fruit seller had some apples. He sold 40% of the apples and still has 432 apples. How many apples did he have in the begining.
1) 720
2) 1080
3) 648
4) 960
Solution: Say originally the fruit seller had y apples.
After selling 40% of the apples he is left with 60% of the apples.
So, 60% of y = 432
On solving, y = 720.
Hence, option 1.
